SILMO 2026 Trend Report: Four Looks We’re Already Making
Every September the eyewear trade packs up and heads to Paris. SILMO 2026 wrapped up on 28 September at Paris Nord Villepinte, and this year the Trends Forum split the season into four clear directions: AURA, FANCY, CHARISMA and ADRENALINE. Through buyer conversations, incoming orders and our own reading of the market, we checked each direction against what we actually produce in Wenzhou. The short version: the trends on the catwalk are not hard to make. You just need to know which factory is already making them.
Here are the four looks, and where we already had them today.
AURA — the 90s are back, and they are thick
AURA is the nineties glamour return: chunky frames, high-gloss acetate, oversized rounds, ovals and soft squares. Buyers look for proportion, not delicate lines. Our Double Bridges Thick Acetate and Metal Sunglasses sit right in this lane — a heavy square front, a metal double bridge, gradient grey lenses. It reads 1996, but it is cut on CNC and polished the same way we finish every frame, so the edge work is clean and the acetate keeps its shine. For a European buyer launching a capsule collection, this is usually the first frame they ask us to quote.

FANCY — playful, printed, a little precious
FANCY is the bold and whimsical direction: feminine curves, floral shades, pearl finishes, multicolored acetate, chains and jewelry details. It is the trend where decoration is the product. One frame we keep in front of buyers is the Floral Printed Acetate Cat-Eye Optical Frames — a cat-eye front in blue with a floral print running along the temple. The print is not a sticker; it is embedded in the acetate, so it does not wear off after a season. Fashion distributors like it because it is an easy upsell over plain frames, and the MOQ works for mid-size accounts.

CHARISMA — big, dark, mixed materials
CHARISMA is the contrast trend: XXL frames, warm deep tones, tortoise and mottled effects, two materials in one frame. It is also the direction we are asked about most this season. Our newest launch, the Oversized Pilot Acetate Shield Sunglasses, ticks almost every box — an oversized pilot front in tortoise acetate, thick temples, UV400 lenses, and a shape that works on both women and men. It went live on our site last month and it has been our most-asked-about new item since. If you are testing one new frame for 2027, this is the one we would show you first.

ADRENALINE — sports energy with tech details
The last trend is the active one: dynamic graphic lines, modular builds, sport and kids frames, carbon or brushed metal, and colored lenses. TR90 keeps coming up here because it is light and flexible without looking cheap. Our Athleisure TR90 Sports Eyewear covers the basics — a hard-edged shield, grippy temples, an everyday price point — and it is the first frame we send to cycling and outdoor brands. For buyers who want to test the sports category without a big commitment, this is the safe entry.

From our side of the table
We are a manufacturer in Wenzhou, with design done in Shanghai — close to twenty years in eyewear, cutting acetate, metal and TR90 in-house. The useful part of a trend report like this is not the trends themselves; it is that most of them are already in production somewhere. When a new trend lands, we do not wait for a supplier to figure out how to make it. We can usually show a sample within a week or two, and adjust colors, temples or logos against your own line.
If one of these four directions matches your next collection, ask us for photos and prices. Ready stock is available from 12 pairs per color. For OEM and ODM, minimums are 300 pairs per style and 100 pairs per color. Write to jim@shjmoptical.com or send a WhatsApp to +86-137-6415-0962, and tell us which trend you are chasing.
