Safety eyewear in a wholesale catalogue is usually bought by two different customers. Safety distributors want a compliant, repeatable item they can stock by the carton; optical retailers want something they can sell to the customer who already wears a prescription and cannot work without it. A wrap-around frame that accepts a prescription insert serves both, which is why it is the first model we list here.
Why RX-ready matters. The common workaround on a shop floor is wearing safety glasses over everyday spectacles. Two frames sit on the same bridge, both fog up, the side shield lands in the wrong place and the seal at the brow is lost. A frame designed around an insert puts the correction behind the shield instead of in front of it, so the protection geometry stays exactly where it was designed to be.
What to check before specifying. Side coverage is the first thing to look at: the shield should close the gap at the outer corner, where ordinary spectacles leave the eye exposed. Second is lens clarity – a clear lens keeps colour and depth perception intact, which matters more than darkness when the job depends on judging material, edges or distance. Third is fit: a wrap front with straight temples stays put under a helmet or cap, where a hinged frame tends to slide.
Ordering. One model covers the range, so stock stays simple: no left and right, no size ladder, no colour matrix. Logo printing, frame colour, lens tint and packaging can be customised from 300 pcs per style, and the frame and insert can be quoted as one pack if you want to sell them together under a single brand.
We also supply the optical frames and eyewear accessories that usually ship with an eye protection programme, so a full range can leave in one shipment. For test reports, samples or a quote, email jim@shjmoptical.com.
