J0042 is a transparent polycarbonate case. The point of a clear case is that the frame stays visible: on a shop wall the product is the frame, not the packaging, and a case you can see through lets the colour and shape do the selling without a printed carton in front of it.
It is also a practical storage item. Opticians who keep stock in drawers can identify a frame without opening every case, which sounds trivial until you watch someone hunt through forty cases for one model.
Polycarbonate gives a hard, impact-resistant shell at low weight, and the moulded hinge runs the full width of the lid. The surface takes a screen print or a small label cleanly; because the material is clear, artwork should be designed as a single-colour mark rather than a full-colour panel.
Two stock tints: clear and light blue. Custom tints are possible at volume.
